In iPhone & iPhone/iPad: Beyond the Basics we build off the topics discussed in the Introductory classes and delve deeper into the advanced functionality of the devices.
Beginning with web surfing and Email we’ll take a deeper look into both of these important elements of the iExperience and discuss the functionality and how to utilize both Apps effectively. We’ll also discuss the other options of using your iPhone/iPad for communicating, whether it be iMessage, Skype or Facetime.
Maintaining your digital photo library is fun and easy with your iPhone/iPad. We’ll discuss organizing your albums, photo/video editing techniques, the photo/video library options as well as the many different ways of sharing your photos/videos with others. These include slideshows, using your iPhone/iPad as a digital picture frame or with shared Photo Streams or through AirPlay.
The iPhone/iPad can be used to expand your horizons, if you know where to look. By finding and reading books in iBooks or downloading an Ivy League course from Yale in iTunes U we’ll explore some of the ways to utilize the knowledge resources available to iPhone/iPad users. We’ll configure both Apps to make them simple and easy to enjoy.
We’ll also discuss the many uses for the Siri voice recognition software now included for the iPhone/iPad in IOS 6. These include basic functions such as opening Apps and creating calendar reminders hands free, to more complex ones like voice dictation or location searching.
Downloading and playing movies or television shows is a great way to help pass the time during a trip and we’ll look at how to best do so on your iPhone/iPad. We’ll also look at the streaming options available through Hulu+ and Netflix and how those Apps can be used.
If you are not using your iCloud you are missing out on some some very useful tools. We’ll discuss what it is, how to set it up on your device and how best to use it to keep all of your devices synchronized.
